My life, from a young age, has always led me on a path to pursue and integrate nature’s healing properties. I was raised by my grandparents, two medical professionals, in a culture that valued traditional healing practices and herbal medicine. As a child, I remember watching my grandpa performing his daily morning exercises and my grandma constantly massaging her legs to improve circulation. I was introduced to the different plants in our environment and encouraged to use them for cuts, mosquito bites, bruises, stuffy nose, ear infections and many other ailments I dealt with as a kid. Now when I look at my grandparents living independently well into their nineties, I realize the wisdom in simplicity.
Our natural world offers us everything we need to heal ourselves at all dimensions of wellness, whether it be plants and herbs, physical activity, breath, water, sustenance, energy work, or touch. It is this realization that prompted me to complete an intensive 18-month massage therapy training program at the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, DC.
My journey through massage school equipped me with an immense skill set to be effective at providing the highest quality of bodywork to my clients. I have had extensive training in therapeutic Swedish massage, Deep Tissue manipulation, and I am certified to practice Reki energy healing. I strive to incorporate techniques from numerous modalities so that each treatment is a client-centered, individualized experience. Myofascial release, reflexology, stretching, aromatherapy, and heat therapy are usually woven into each healing session.
I am licensed to practice in Maryland and D.C. and have been an upstanding member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the Associated Massage & Bodywork Professionals since 2011. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Economics from the University of Maryland - College Park.
